Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority
 The Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Danville, Virginia is seeking a CFO/Deputy Executive Director to manage accounting operations for the Authority’s Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs. 
 
  • Monitors expenditures and prepares monthly financial statements and administrative reports
  • Performs and supervises accounts receivables, accounts payable, payroll, accounting records, handles grant administration accounting, etc. 
  • Supervises staff of 3; serves as staff support to the CEO/Executive Director in accounting and human resources. 
  • Requires Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, or business administration plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in government accounting, to include a minimum of 3 years of management experience. 
  • Five or more years of direct experience working as an Accounting Manager/Finance Director at a public housing authority is highly preferred.

Albemarle County’s Office of Housing (ACOH) is seeking a Full-Time Rental Assistance Coordinator to join the Housing Team. We aim to recruit a new team member from a diverse pool of candidates and encourage all to apply. While an affordable housing background is preferred, it is not required.

PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT & HOUSING AUTHORITY
The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has the following positions available:

EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST
The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority is seeking to hire three full-time Employment
Specialists to coordinate and conduct program modules and/or service plans to train and obtain employment
for the agency Jobs Plus program participants.
-Interviews and assess participants regarding needs in order to become gainfully employed.
-Develops and promotes employment and employment training opportunities for participants enrolled in the Jobs Plus Program.
-Develops work sites in the public and private non-profit agencies via partnerships and contractual agreements for the work experience and on-the-job training components of the program.
-Assists in the development of participant’s individual capabilities and seeks solutions to issues involving childcare, finances, housing, education, training and employment.
-Markets the Jobs Plus Program to residents and recruit program participants.
-Establish and maintain program relations with Jobs Plus employers to promote the training and hiring of Jobs Plus participants.
-Provides information to participants on assistance with financial literacy activities.
-Valid Driver’s License.
-Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing in Sociology, Social Work, Education or related field of study.
-Three to five years’ experience in social work and demonstrated experience with case management of low-
income populations.
-Experience working with local resource and community services agencies and familiarity with Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) rules and regulations.
-Excellent verbal and written communications and problem solving skills are essential.

Salary: $37,024/yr.
Three full-time grant positions with excellent fringe benefit package of paid holidays,

INFORMATION SYSTEMS DESKTOP TECHNICIAN

PROPERTY MANAGER
The Property Manager manages plans, develops, organizes, coordinates, implements, evaluates and supervises the daily operations and functions of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and other housing owned and/or managed by the Authority. Manages the financial operations of the assigned property; the rental program and performs annual interviews and in-home inspections; oversees building, ground maintenance and security of the property; supervises full and/or part-time staff; and coordinates resident services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy are essential. Three years' LIHTC property management experience required.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority is seeking Maintenance Mechanics to performs a variety of maintenance tasks and general repairs specializing in general maintenance and the maintenance and repair of buildings, building equipment and fixtures. Performs plaster and drywall repairs. Installation of downspouts, guttering and minor roof repairs and repair of windows, window screens and storm doors. Install/repair kitchen cabinets, sinks and hang doors Performs carpentry, mechanical and minor plumbing and electrical repairs. Participates in preventive maintenance and emergency repair and new construction. Thorough knowledge of common methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the building trades. Must be available to work during emergencies and other unscheduled working hours. Driver’s license required. 6 years’ experience in building maintenance. Universal EPA Certification in HVAC highly desirable.
Salary will commensurate with experience.
